How often do I need to clean the bins?

In most cases, our outdoor ashtrays are cleaned every week, or two. The schedule, of course, depends on the number of smokers and the availability of your maintenance staff.

Which bin is best for me?

We have dozens of bin varieties. Our Tower Bin and the original No Butts Bin are our the most popular. The first question to ask is whether you can mount the outdoor ashtray on a wall. If so, you can use our lower-cost wall mounted ashtrays. Once mounted to the wall, they are hard to steal or vandalize. We also offer a full range of floor-mounted ashtrays. Some can be anchored to the ground. Others can be more freely moved and positioned. Finally, you must consider durability. Do you want to replace your ashtrays every season, or two? If not, consider one of our stainless steel bins.

Can vandals break into the ashtray and retrieve half-finished cigarettes?

Yes, this can be a problem. For many outdoor ashtrays, it is common to see that vandals have knocked over the top of an outdoor ashtray – believe it or not, in search of cheap cigarettes. The result is a mess. Most of our No Butts Bin outdoor ashtrays use a special key and locking mechanism that helps prevent this vandalism.

How do I fasten the wall-mounted outdoor ashtrays?

The back plate of the wall mounted bins screws to the wall or structure. This back plate is held off the wall slightly to allow the front component to slide over it and be held by retaining screws. The mounting plate is also configured to be used with standard U-channel posts.

I am not sure what bin I have here, now. Can I tell if it is an Original No Butts Bin? It seems to have had a fire.

Unfortunately, there are many copies of our No Butts Bin in the market. Worse still, these imitators cut corners – with disastrous results. Click here to compare quality. The key to our bins is our patented internal baffle system. When others try to avoid our patent, they often change the design in a way that causes jams and, sometimes, fires. Most of the true and Original No Butts Bins have a unique nameplate that can be used to contact us.

Who can assemble and install my outdoor ashtray?

The floor mounted bins can be unpacked and simply moved into place. If you want, you may anchor the bin to the floor. The wall-mounted bins are also easy to attach. No particular mechanical skill is needed –just a few tools. In most cases, our wall-mounted bin can be installed in 10 minutes, or so.

When will my outdoor ashtray ship? And, how much does it cost to ship it?

The bins are ready for immediate shipment. The costs depend on your location and the size of the bin. Generally, we estimate the costs until the bin is actually shipped. Please call us if you need an exact cost for shipping.

Am I encouraging smoking with a shelter?

Yes, smoking is controversial. But, understand that anywhere from 25% to 40% of your employees smoke. At least those are the numbers reported in recent surveys of companies throughout America. And if you’re not already mandated to control smoking, you will be soon. Smoking codes and laws are increasingly easy for legislators to pass. And the codes and laws are getting much tougher, on both sides.

How long before the smokers start to use a bin that we installed?

Smokers see our bins and instantly seem to know where you want them to smoke. They have no problem complying – they are happy to have a place to light up. Crushed butts disappear from the pavement and outside doorways. Everything is cleaner and permanently under control.

Are you "pro smoking"? Don’t you that cigarettes are bad for the environment, too?

We are not pro smoking, just pro clean-up. Yes, cigarette butts are made of plastic and can take over ten years to disintegrate. Moreover, they are often mistaken for food and damage wildlife. Toxins may even get into the water system. That is why a good cigarette disposal system is so vital. Our outdoor ashtrays help collect the cigarette waste and help you cleanly dispose of it.
